Iranian Jews protest Gaza slaughter

Jerusalem post,Dec 30, 2008 20:55
Different groups representing Iran's Jewish community on Tuesday gathered in front of the United Nations office in Teheran in order to protest "Israeli war crimes and the slaughter of the innocent people in Gaza Strip," the Iranian IRNA news agency reported.

The protesters, led by the Jewish representative in Parliament, Siamak Mara-Sedq, carried placards with anti-Israel slogans in both Farsi and Hebrew, the report said.

"We are here to express our support and sympathy with the Palestinian nation," Rahmatollah Rafi, the chairman of Iran's Jewish community was quoted as saying at the rally.

Hinting mainly at Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the report said that Rafi went on to criticize "certain Arab governments for their inaction and silence towards Israeli inhuman acts and war crimes in Gaza and the entire Palestinian territories."

Separately, IRNA reported that in a Tuesday speech to the Iranian parliament Mara-Sedq "expressed shock" over the "savage acts" perpetrated by "the Tel Aviv regime."

The report said that the Jewish MP "expressed hope that all the peace-loving nations and the true advocates of human rights would thoroughly support the defenseless Palestinian people and make Israel stop the genocide in the region by exerting pressure on Tel Aviv."

He also reportedly gave voice to the "hatred" the Iranian Jewish Community harbors towards "the Israeli crimes."

According to the report, Mara-Sedq's remarks elicited a chorus of anti-Israel and anti-US slogans from members of parliament.

Iranian Jewish leaders are often quoted as having given voice to extreme anti-Israel views, but it is unclear whether these opinions are imposed upon them by the regime. Some 25,000 Jews live in Iran.

Verse No. 32 in the Bible Versus the Quran

This is a new series (1-32) of Verse No. in the Bible versus the Quran.
By Professor Dr. Ibrahim Khalil

Verse No. 32 in the Noble Quran says: and give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. there for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.

The verse No. 32 in the Old Testament is Genesis 2:1

Which one (or more) of these meanings of "host" is applied to the verse to give a

logic meaning for it?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The verse No. 32 in the New Testament is Matthew 2:7
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In the articles 26-31, Matthew 2:1-6 say:

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying: Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. He asked the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, where the Christ was to be born.

They told him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:
'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.

Then the verse, Matthew 2:7, says:
Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star (of Jesus) had appeared.
But why Herod called the Magi secretly? Was he afraid of something?

Verse No. 32 in the Noble Quran is 2:25,
Chapter 2 is Surah AL-BAQARA (THE COW),
######################################
The verse says: and give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. there for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.

The meaning of verse 2:25:
Then Allah mentioned the favors enjoyed by the believers in Paradise, saying:
And give glad tidings unto those who believe in Muhammad and in the Quran and do good works of obedience that bind to their Lord; and it is also that this refers to doing any righteous deeds;
that theirs are Gardens beneath which, trees and habitations, rivers flow, rivers of wine, milk, honey and water; as often as they are provided with food, whenever they are fed in Paradise of the fruit thereof, with different kinds of fruit, they say: This is what was given us before, this is what we ate before, and it is given to them i.e. the food in resemblance, as far as the color is concerned but not the taste which is different. There for them in Paradise are pure spouses, pure from menses or any kind of filth, therein, in Paradise, forever they abide, dwelling forever: never to die or be banished from it.

In other words, the verse means:
And give good tidings to, inform, those who believe, who have faith in Allah, and perform righteous deeds, such as the obligatory and supererogatory rituals, that theirs shall be Gardens, of trees, and habitations, underneath which, that is, underneath these trees and palaces, rivers flow. Whensoever they are provided with fruits therefrom, that is, whenever they are given to eat from these gardens, they shall say, ‘This is what, that is, the like of what we were provided with before’, that is, before this, in Paradise, since its fruits are similar (and this is evidenced by [the following statement]): they shall be given it, the provision, in perfect semblance, that is, resembling one another in color, but different in taste; and there for them shall be spouses, of houris (one of the beautiful virgins provided in paradise for all faithful Muslims) and others, purified, from menstruation and impurities; therein they shall abide: dwelling therein forever, neither perishing nor departing therefrom.

It is said that there is no menstruation, filth and impurities in Paradise.

Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?

comment:I am in no way a teleology nor tht I'll pretend to be a religious scholar which am not.

To begin with, one must understand that the religion of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are three closely related religions. Some people called it as Abrahamic religions. Abrahamic religions are actually a collective term that refer to the doctrine or belief that there is only one God and maintain the recognize a spiritual tradition idenifield with Abraham, hence the scripttures (Old Testament, New Testament and Quran) that reveal to them respectively cointain some similarity in some points. This is just a general term and I'll try explain later. The othrs major non-Abrahamic religion of course worship many goddes and deities in the form of stone, clay idol adorn wth gold or not and what have not.

Same God?Reading this some minor might jump from their chair and argue that if its the same then, how come we got three different religions? To answer this question, one must know a bit about the history and faiths that recognize a spiritual tradition identified with Abraham. In the spirit of this article and the context, I must explain from Islam perpective. This is also because it is extremely difficult start with Christian, because there is such a wide range of beliefs and practices among various wings of Christianity, such as Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodox and thousands of Protestant faith groups (which some wings share a little and dont even recognised the other groups as Christian) , the Anglican communion and the tens of thousands of new factional group.

In Islam, God has lift many ordinary people into prophethood to salvage their people in the span of many centuries. Among others prophethood bestow upon them also a holly book, one of it is the Old Testament which Qur'an refer to as the Taurat or The book of MOses which revealed by God to Moses/Musa(peace be upon him). The Taurat is an Arabic transliteration of the Hebrew word Torah(Quran is in Arabic and Taurat is in Hebrew because it was revealed to the Jews). The New Testament which Qur'an refer to as the Injil was revealed to Isa or Jesus the Nazareth as know to the Christian (the word of Christ came from a Greek word meaning Messiah, so now you know why its call Christian) .

The Quran, Taurat, Injil and their respective predecessor Zabur and Scrolls of Abraham(Suhuf Ibrahim, peace be upon him) is of the five Islamic Holy Books as revealed by God to the Prophets. Over many centuries, perhap because of unsophisticated written material and effects of nature, some of the Holy Books is completly lost, others is heavily corrupted when people tries to rewrite the lost portions (much to their liking) hence people start to sway futher frm the original teaching. This should explain why there is so many prophets in Islam. Hence Jesus and Moses are among those messenger from different times.

It widely acknowledge that the New Testament has he been alter (hence corrupted) over the time. There is also some significant that the New Testament which was either written by the Apostles(twelve chief, disciple of Jesus) or people closesly connected to them. And not by Jesus himself nor writtem by the apostles while he still around for that matter. On the contrary, The Quran was written down word by word by Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) companions on palm leaf and goat's skin while he was still very much alive of course. Just merely a year after the prophet death, the numerous written text was compiled and undergoes the most stricly verification know to human kind and then vetted by none others then the companions who's learn it frm the mouth of the Prophet himself. Who can dispute theose vetting when the companions themself know and memorise the Quran by heart?Two Decate later, it was then produced in large numbers and gradualy ship to the entire Islamic empire that span over the centuries from North Africa, central Asia and up to the gate of Viena in Europe. The authetic of Quranic verse still protected untill this very day, and surffice to mention that the search for the significant variants by the western academia has been unsuccessful.

The Quran refers to many events from Jewish and Christian scriptures, some of which are retold in comparatively distinctive ways from the Bible and the Torah, while obliquely referring to other events described explicitly in those texts. Thus to questions that the Quran quoted from the Bible is shomehow unprecedented and tantamount to their level of understanding of both religions to say the least.

So what say you?
